Over 100+ People Attend the "Welcome Home Our Injured Firefighters Cookout"

Yesterday, Saturday May 7th at 1700 hours, over 100+ members, family, friends, neighboring fire departments, and Commissioner Susan Shaw attended the "Welcome Home Our Injured Firefighters Cookout." This is a result of the Soper Road house fire in March that injured (2 critical) 6 Huntingtown VFD firefighters and 4 Prince Frederick VFD firefighters. Two months later, all firefighters have been recovering, although they have not all been cleared to ride fire apparatus yet. It was a wonderful event that brought the county fire departments together. The festivities lasted until approximately midnight.
Many thanks to Bill Prochownik (Up in Smoke BBQ) for the chicken and ribs and to Robert Ogle for his DJ services. Extra special thanks to the Saint Leonard VFD for filling-in.
