Monday June 7, 2010 at 1648 hours, Chief 6 (Riffe), Chief 6A (Montgomery), Chief 6C (Morris), Engine 61 (Miller), Squad 6 (Montgomery Jr) and Tanker 6 (Safety Officer McKenny) were alerted for the kitchen fire at 95 Cox Road. The Huntingtown Volunteers arrived to find a one-story residence with smoke showing from the rear. Engine 61's crew stretched the 200' crosslay and found the kitchen stove on fire with extension into the cabinets and walls. The fire was quickly knocked down as the Squad crew began opening up around the affected area, ventilating, and securing the kitchen. Within minutes the Box was scaled back to Engine 61 and Squad 6 only. At 1730 hours, units returned to service.
