By Chief Jonathan Riffe
March 27, 2010
Saturday March 27, 2010 at 1519 hours (hours after cleaning up from the first fire), Chief 6 (Riffe), Chief 6A (Montgomery), Chief 6C (Morris), Engine 61 (Sgt Williams) and Tanker 6 (Montgomery Jr) were alerted for the Working House Fire at 431 Chesapeake Beach Road (109 box). First arriving units arrived on location reporting heavy fire showing from a garage with extension into the one-story rambler. Engine 61's crew (3rd due) arrived on location and began opening up walls and ceilings as well as working with an attack line to extinguish hot spots. Again, due to quick work, the fire was quickly knocked down saving the house. Units from the Huntingtown VFD operated until 1755 hours.
