By Chief Jonathan Riffe
November 3, 2009

Tuesday November 3, 2009 at 1125 hours, Chief 6 (Riffe), Chief 6A (Montgomery), Chief 6C (Morris), Safety Officer 6 (McKenny), Squad 6 (Hardesty), and Ambulance 69 (Flynt) were alerted for the head-on accident with entrapment at Route 260 and Howlin Concrete (3rd due). In addition, the North Beach VFD and Dunkirk Squad 5 were alerted to the run.

First arriving units found a two-vehicle head-on crash with one patient trapped. Crews immediately went to work removing the priority 1 driver by removing the front and rear driver's side doors and the "B" post. The drivers of both vehicles were flown to local trauma centers via Trooper 2 and Eagle 1. Engine 12 handled the Landing Zone. Units cleared at 1215 hours.
