| This past Saturday October 3, 2009, a crew of 6 Huntingtown Volunteers aboard Engine 62 stood by at Kings Landing Camp, Huntingtown MD. A bus load of wounded veterans was transported from Walter Reed Medical Hospital to the camp for a picnic/gathering from 1200-1600 hours. In addition, Prince Frederick Tower 2 was at the event.
Many thanks to Bobby Bonner (Calvert Advanced Life Support) for the invite. The Huntingtown Volunteers have always supported the men/women fighting to defend the freedom of the United States. Most recently, the Huntingtown Volunteers participated in a similiar event with the veterans at the Rod and Reel Marina, followed by a private luncheon in Huntingtown, MD.
Currently, one member of the Huntingtown VFD, Jimmy "Bull" Hildwine is fighting overseas in Iraq. Member, Kyle Colleli will be deployed to Afghanistan in the near future. |
