By Chief Jonathan Riffe
August 7, 2009

Thursday August 6, 2009 at 1900 hours (one hour after the dinner for members J Hildwine and K Colleli), approximately 50 members "pushed" Tanker 6 into its new bay at the Huntingtown VFD. In addition, Communications officially placed the unit in service with the following statement:

"The officers and members of the Huntingtown Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad are pleased to announce the placing in service of "Tanker 6". This unit is a 2009 Dryside Tanker. It was built by Pierce with a Peterbilt Model 367 body. It houses a 485 HP Engine, Allison EVS 4,000 Transmission, 10" side dump valves, 12" rear dump valves, a Hale 1000 gallon per minute pump, and 3,000 gallon water tank."

Thanks to everybody for their hard work the past year working on this unit.
