Wednesday June 24, 2009, shortly after lunch, Chief 6 (Riffe), Chief 6A (Montgomery), and Engine 62 (S/O McKenny) were alerted for the boat fire next to a house on Williams Wharf Road (3rd due-707 box). Chief 6 arrived with a fully-involved boat just a few feet from a house. Fortunately, the homeowner was keeping the fire in check with a garden hose. Engine 71 arrived and stretched the front bumper line making quick work of the fire. Engine 21 and Tower 2 arrived, assisted Engine 71 and checking for any extension in the house. After 15 minutes, the box was quickly scaled back to Engine 71, Engine 21, and Tower 2. The Fire Investigator was also requested to the scene.
