| On Sunday February 20, 2005, 20 members from Huntingtown Volunteer Department made their way to Montgomery County aboard Engine 62, Car 6, and Utility 6 led by Deputy Chief Hayes, Lt Cox, and Sgt Bivens. Huntingtown VFD member, Bernie Collins is a Montgomery County Police/Fire Instructor and our department annually participates at the Montgomery County Training Academy. Sunday, the members participated in the flashover simulator and 4-story maze building. This could not of been completed without Bernie Collins and the Instructors from Montgomery County. Many thanks for sharing your time and knowledge with the members of Huntingtown VFD.
In addition, the day before, the members were up until 4 a.m. from the Monthly Poker Tournament, only to leave 2 hours later for Montgomery County. Over 20 members assisted at the Poker Tournament, in addition to leaving two crews in the station to staff the equipment (they ran 4 calls), sending two members to represent at Company 2's banquet, and sending six members to Company 2 (Prince Frederick) to staff their Engine and Tanker. The officers of Huntingtown VFD would like to thank all of the members who give their valuable time to our department in every way they can from fundraising to staffing our equipment. Nothing could be accomplished without their time and dedication.
For anybody who would like to join our growing family, you can pick up an application at our station or call our on-duty Secretary, Sandy between 0900-1700 hours at 410-535-3331 to have one mailed to your residence or emailed to you. The building completion will be September-October 2005. |
