Wednesday February 18, 2009 at 1250 hours, Chief 6 (Riffe), Chief 6B (Thrasher), Engine 61 (Bobo), and Squad 6 (Nasti) were alerted for the chimney fire at 3180 Karen Drive in the Lake Karylbrook section (103 Box). Units from the North Beach VFD arrived reporting nothing evident. Engine 61 arrived, picking up Engine 12's line and was assigned to Division 1 with Squad 6. Once inside, moderate smoke conditions were found in the kitchen. The crew from Tower 1 & Squad 6 began opening up and found fire in the walls and ceiling. The crew from Engine 61 made quick work of the fire. Within 15 minutes the Box was held to units from Company 1 & Company 6. Units from the Huntingtown VFD remained on the scene until 1407 hours.
