Shortly after 0200 hours, on Sunday September 14, 2008, Engine Company 6 was alerted for the auto fire at 2262 Smoky Road. Chief 6 (Riffe), Chief 6B (Montgomery), Sergeant 6 (Morris), Engine 62 (Cox, C), and Tanker 6 (Farrell) arrived to find an auto on fire inches away from the side of the house. The homeowner (awakened by the explosion), was attempting to contain the fire with a garden hose. After deploying the front bumper line off Engine 62, the fire was quickly brought under control.
