Tuesday July 22, 2008, after non-stop running through the day, at 1715 hours, the Huntingtown Volunteers were alerted for the pedestrian struck at Route 4 and Plum Point Road. Chief 6A (Spriggs), Chief 6B (Montgomery), Squad 6 (Capt Collins), and Ambulance 69 (Nasti) arrived to find a female on a bicycle that for unknown reasons pulled out into Route 4 during rush-hour traffic. Unfortunately, the patient was pronounced dead on the scene. Units assisted the Sheriff's Department for a short period before finally returning to service.
