Saturday April 19, 2008 at 1430 hours, the Huntingtown Volunteers were alerted for the brush fire in the area of Route 4 and Ponds Wood Road. Sergeant 6 (Morris), Engine 61 (Nasti), Tanker 6 (Capt McKenny), Brush 6 (Miller) and Jeep 6 (Robison) arrived within minutes to find a fast-moving woods fire due to an improperly discarded cigarette. Two small lines (from Brush 6 and Jeep) were placed in service along with the 200' cross-lay from Tanker 6, quickly bringing the fire under control. Units cleared within 30 minutes.
