On Friday December 31st at 1439 hours, Company 5 (Dunkirk), Company 6 (Huntingtown), Company 1 (North Beach) and Tanker 9 (Lothian) were alerted for the garage fire at 90 West Mount Harmony Road. Chief 1 (Freesland) arrived on the scene to find a detached garage well-involved with fire. Chief 6A (Riffe), Chief 6C (Spriggs), Engine 61 (F/F Borden), and Tanker 6 (F/F Crouch) arrived on the scene and assisted the crews from Company 5 with extinguishing the fire. Engine 11 set-up on the hydrant in the Cross Point subdivision while the crew from Tower 1 opened up the roof. Units from Company 6 operated on the fire-ground until 1509 hours. Command-Chief 5A (Wells), Operations-Chief 1 and Chief 5B (Catterton), Water Supply-Safety Officer 5 (Miles), Staging-Chief 6C.
Tanker 6 handled the fill-in at Company 5 until 1600 hours.
Shortly after arrival back at the station, Engine 61 (Sgt. Bivens) was dispatched to 6395 Broomes Island Road for the chimney fire.
