| Last night was a proud moment for the members of Huntingtown VFD and the Collins/Grierson Family. Two members of Huntingtown VFD, Mike Grierson and Ricky Grierson, graduated from Montgomery County Fire Department Recruit Class 31. Their intense training began September 4, 2007. Mike Grierson has been assigned to Station 24 (Hillandale) "B" Shift. Ricky Grierson has been assigned to Station 11 (Glen Echo) "C" Shift.
This is significant because, their father, Mike "Elmo" Grierson, is a Captain in Montgomery County FD. Their grandfather, is retired from Montgomery County FD. They become the 3rd generation. Even more, their father, Mike, is a past member of Huntingtown VFD. Their grandfather, Bernie, is currently the Safety Officer of Huntingtown VFD. And to keep the family tradition ongoing, Mike and Ricky's younger brother, Chuckie recently joined the Huntingtown VFD as a Cadet.
We know their family is as proud as the members of Huntingtown VFD. We wish them the best of luck and congratulate them once again!! |
