1st Week of MAYDAY Training

This past Thursday, the Huntingtown Volunteers began the 1st week of Mandatory MAYDAY Training. A few years ago, Huntingtown VFD set a precadent and became the 1st Volunteer Fire Department in the COUNTRY to mandate Mayday Training to it's members. This is a huge step ensuring the safety and well-being of our members of Huntingtown VFD and the surrounding companies if the unfortunate ever occurs.

Since that time, this has been a year-round process, and two members of the department have traveled the country and taught MAYDAY training to firefighters at the Fire Expo in Baltimore and FDIC in Indianapolis, Indiana. Additionally, the Huntingtown VFD recently wrote a MAYDAY article and submitted it to Firehouse Magazine where it is currently being reviewed.

**** All members: This training will occur every remaining Thursday for the remainder of January. This is mandatory for all firefighters to participate. ****
