| Wednesday December 19, 2007 at 1617 hours, Huntingtown VFD and surrounding companies were alerted for the laundry room fire at 2300 Hunting Creek Road. With several crews in quarters, Chief 6 (Riffe), Chief 6B (Montgomery), Engine 61 (Robison), Engine 62 (S/O Collins), Tanker 6 (Rountree, RJ), Ambulance 68 (Gadway, J), Safety Officer 6 (Bowen), and Lieutenant 6 (Thrasher) quickly responded. Chief 6 and Safety Officer 6 were first to arrive with smoke showing from a two-story balloon frame farm house. Engine 61 arrived, advanced an attack line to the 1st floor with fire evident behind the walls and quickly making access to the second floor. Engine 62 arrived seconds later, picked up Engine 61's line and advanced an attack line to the second floor quickly stopping the fire. With the closest Special Services several miles out of position (and usually never due on initial dispatch), Engine 21 was directed to assist Company 6 units with opening up the walls and checking for extension. The Box Assignment was quickly held to Company 6 units and Engine 21. At 1726 hours, Command was terminated.
