Sunday November 25 at 1603 hours, just as over 90 members (including family and friends) were sitting down to enjoy the "post" Thanksgiving meal, Box 105 was alerted for the house fire on Old Bayside Road. Units from Huntingtown VFD alerted were Chief 6 (Riffe), Chief 6A (Spriggs), Engine 62 (Lt Thrasher), and Tanker 6 (S/O Bowen). While en route, Communications advised it would be a working fire. Before units could arrive, Communications gave a second message, advising to possibly be a shed. North Beach VFD units arrived to find a working 2-story shed fire and made quick work of the fire. Engine 62 dispatched as the 3rd due Engine, arrived as the 2nd due Engine. Command quickly held the Box to Company 1 and Engine 62. The 12 Huntingtown Volunteers were held for a short time and placed in service at 1633 hours. Several crews remained back in quarters; too many members to even possibly staff the apparatus. Members, family, and friends were then able to sit down and enjoy the wonderful food.
