| As Huntingtown crews were wrapping from the fire at Old Bayside and 17th Street, Communications advised of another Box about to be dispatched. At 2345 hours, Units were alerted to Prince Frederick for the reported basement fire on South Shore Drive. Chief 6A (Spriggs), Chief 6B (Montgomery), Engine 61 (Lt Thrasher), Engine 62 (S/O Bowen), Tanker 6 (Fitzgerald), and Squad 6 (Rountree) quickly cleared and headed south with the same 17 Volunteers. Units arrived to find fire working it's way through the floor joists and walls surrounding the fireplace. Engine 62 arrived, picked up E-21's line, stretched a 2nd attack line, and was assigned to the Basement Division. Engine 61's crew was tasked with assisting units on the 1st floor with extinguishing the small, but stubborn fire. A saw and several miscellaneous hand tools were used to break apart the brick and floor surrounding the fireplace. Huntingtown units operated on this incident for one hour before finally returning to service.
