| It brings great sadness to pass the news Joe Humphreys, a local fire service icon has passed away early this morning. Mr. Humphreys had served with the Ritchie Volunteer Fire Department for numerous years. If you didn't know him from there, you surely knew him at Maryland Fire Equipment. He probably did business with every department in the region at some point in time. Many people throughout Maryland and the Mid-Atlantic knew Joe. He was a friend to many and excellent business man who always treated you fair. Our deepest sympathy go out to his family, friends, and the many who knew him.
