On Thursday June 28, 2007, at 0730 hours, the Huntingtown Volunteers along with mutual aid units were alerted to Stephen Reid Road for the house fire. Engine 61 and Tanker 6 responded on the run and arrived to find light smoke showing from the basement. Upon entry, moderate smoke conditions were found with a stack of newspapers burning on top of a stove top (stove was turned on). Crews quickly extinguished the fire and removed the contents from the residence. Engine 61 and Engine 51 utilized two fans to horizontally ventilate the residence. The assignment was quickly held within two minutes to Engine 61, Engine 51, and Tower 1. Huntingtown units returned to service at 0830 hours.
