On Thursday June 21, 2007 at 1000 hours, the Huntingtown Volunteers along with surrounding mutual aid companies were alerted to 3171 Holland Cliffs Road for the shed fire. Chief 6 (Riffe), Safety Officer 6 (Bowen), Engine 61 (Sgt Kerns), Engine 62 (Grierson, R), Tanker 6 (McKenny), and Ambulance 69 (Dickerson) responded (Squad 6 is still out of service). Huntingtown units arrived to find smoke showing from a 2-story shed. The front bumper line was extended to the 1st floor where a large portion of fire was found. After it was quickly knocked down, the crew extended the line to the 2nd floor and found minimial extension. The crew from Engine 62 arrived with several hand tools and began overhauling the fire area along with checking for extension with the TIC. 62's driver established Water Supply as the Tanker and Ambulance stood-fast. All fire was knocked down within 5 minutes and all mutual aid units were cancelled before they arrived. The Fire Marshal was requested and determined the cause to be a faulty electrical cord. Huntingtown units picked up and returned to service at 1109 hours.
