On Thursday April 26, 2007 at 1153 hours, the Huntingtown Volunteers were alerted for the auto accident in front of Huntingtown High School. While units were in route, Communications received supplemental information advising that one patient was trapped and unconscious. Due to this information, the Medic Unit was requested. Less than 30 seconds later, Chief 6A (Spriggs), Chief 6B (Montgomery), Chief 6C (Hayes), Squad 6 (Hildwine), and Ambulance 68 (Nasti) arrived to find an 18-wheeler tractor trailer that slammed into the rear of a car. The patient was rapidly extricated and loaded into the rear of Ambulance 68 where she was transported to Calvert Memorial, CPR in progress. The driver of the tractor-trailer was uninjured. Unfortunately, the patient in the car succombed to her injuries. Huntingtown units returned to service at 1224 hours.
