The Huntingtown VFD regretfully announces the passing of Virgina Alberta Sheckells. Mrs. Sheckells was a life-member of the department and in decades past was very active along with her late husband, Elliott Sheckells. Mrs Sheckells was the very first female EMT in Calvert County. As years passed and she was no longer able to volunteer as an EMT, she joined the Ladies Auxiliary. Mr and Mrs Sheckells handled everything for the members at fires, worked every Bingo, every weekend breakfast, etc. They were very active in the fire department and the local Huntingtown United Methodist Church. Today, the Huntingtown Volunteers, friends, family, and loved ones of Mrs Sheckells joined in remembrance of her at the church. She touched the lives of everybody she met with her hugs and will truly be missed but never forgotten.
