This Saturday morning, June 24th, the rain held off just long enough for the Volunteers of Huntingtown to complete the drilling in the acquired structure located in Huntingtown off of Route 4. The past three consecutive Thursdays have consisted of the Mayday training. This morning at 7:30, 30 members mounted every piece of apparatus and headed for the final drill. All members were sectioned off into several groups. Some members still had to complete their Mayday training, everybody worked on the roof making several openings and a trench cut. The other groups worked on breaching walls via the reduced profile maneuver, etc. Finally, the building was ignited and the final groups were able to make some quick hose work. Excellent job by all the other members. Many thanks to the Instructors that were able to assist in the past three weeks and to Dr Clark and FF Bingham.....To the members that missed this mandatory drill, you lost out on an excellent opportunity.
Stay tuned. We have another acquired structure we will begin working on very shortly.
