By Assistant Chief Jonathan Riffe
May 28, 2006

On Sunday May 28, 2006 at 1230 hours, Company 6 (Huntingtown), Engine 151 (Navy Base), Engine 12 (North Beach), Company 2 (Prince Frederick), and Tanker 7 (St Leonard) were alerted for the house fire in the area of Plum Point and Ridge Rd. Engine 151 (Capt Wells) was first arriving, and reported heavy fire showing from a one-story tenant house. Due to this information and an incoming Engine Company unable to make it to the scene, the Working Fire Dispatch was quickly sounded.

Chief 6 (Osbourn), Chief 6C (Spriggs), Safety Officer 6 (Bowen), Engine 61 (Sgt Nasti), Engine 62 (Capt McKenny), Squad 6 (Lt Thrasher), Tanker 6 (Cox, D), and Ambulance 69 (Inscoe, D) arrived on location minutes later. Chief 6 established Command as the crew from Engine 61 picked up Engine 151's line and advanced a back-up attack line into the residence. The crew from Squad 6 arrived and began opening up the inside of the dwelling to expose fire for the attack crews. The crew from Engine 21 was also requested to the scene and pulled a 3rd line to assist in operations. The fire was quickly brought under control and units were back in service two hours later. No injuries were reported and the fire is currently being investigated due to it being suspicious in nature.

Command: Chief 6; Operations: Chief 6C; Interior: Captain 15; Chief 1 (Freesland): Water Supply; Staging: Chief 2A (D'Agostino)
