By Assistant Chief Jonathan Riffe
March 10, 2006

On March 10, 2006 at 1354 hours, while units were still fighting the woods fire in Prince Frederick, Engine 61 (Capt Mckenny), Ambulance 69 (Gadway, J), Ambulance 68 (Scoggins), and Engine 151 (Navy Base) were alerted to Emmaunel Church and Stinnett Road for the auto accident. Due to both of Huntingtown's units that are (Squad 6 and Engine 62) equipped with HURST equipment being utilized on the woods fire, Rescue 1 (North Beach) was also added to the call. Company 6 and Engine 151 arrived to find a two-vehicle accident with one patient trapped. The crew from Engine 61 was able to begin the extrication operation by forcing one of the doors with a Haligan Bar. Engine 151 and Rescue 1 were able to utilize their tools to complete the process. The patient was air-transported to a Local Trauma Center and the Landing Zone was handled by Engine 61. Units cleared at 1444 hours.
