Today, Chief 6A (Riffe) and Fire Prevention Chairman (Willis) were awarded a grant by the WalMart in Prince Frederick. For the past three years, WalMart has been graciously awarding our department grant money. Their help is priceless and has assisted us in helping purchase several things. Unfortunately, the Huntingtown Volunteers and Company 4 (Rescue Squad) were the only departments to show to receive their money even though every department was invited.
**On a side-note, WalMart advised us that for every Huntingtown member that is employed by Wal-Mart, they will donate $200 to the fire department. Because of this, over a dozen of our dedicated members, quit their jobs and turned in applications to WalMart (joking).
