By Assistant Chief Philip Morris
January 20, 2015

On January 17th, 2015 at 2104 Huntingtown Volunteers were alerted to 3875 Hunting Creek Rd for the reported house fire. Burroughs), Ambulance 68 (Carson) and Ambulance 69 (Jordan). Chief 5 (Rector) was in the area and arrived on location first to report a 1 story single family dwelling with heavy smoke showing and heavy fire from Side C. Engine 61 arrived on location and laid 3" supply line from the driveway. The engine crew then advanced the 200 foot cross lay to the front door. Engine 61s crew made entry on Side A through the front door. The crew immediately encountered heavy fire conditions with zero visibility. Crews were able to put the fire under control within 30 minutes and operated for several hours due to extensive overhaul.

Four members from Huntingtown Volunteer Fire Department were transported to the hospital to be treated for 1st and 2nd degree burns. One additional member received a back injury. The members were released later that night and are doing well.
