August 31, 2005

On August 31, 2005 at 2116 hours, Company 6 (Huntingtown), Engine 151 (Navy Base) and the Medic Unit were alerted to Plum Point Road and Woodlow Drive for the auto accident with entrapment. Chief 6 (Osbourn), Chief 6A (Riffe), Chief 6C (Spriggs), Lieutenant 6 (Montgomery), Squad 6 (Sgt Bivens), Engine 62 (Lt Cox, D), Ambulance 68 (EMS Lt Nutwell), and Ambulance 69 (Bateman) arrived to find two-vehicles involved with one patient trapped. The Squad crew immediately went to work extricating the driver in minutes utilizing the HURST Maverick tool and the "O" cutters. The patient was loaded into Ambulance 69 for the awaiting Trooper 2. The Landing Zone was established at Plum Point Elementary and was handled by Engine 62. Engine 151 (Wells, R) protected the on-scene crews with a handline. Units cleared at 2200 hours.
