Tuesday January 28, 2014 at 1434 hours, with temperatures well below freezing, numerous departments from 4 separate counties, Anne Arundel, Calvert, Prince George's & Queen Anne were alerted for the house fire on McKendree Road in Anne Arundel County. The assignment brought Huntingtown VFD Tanker 6 (Lanier, A) to the scene. First arriving Dunkirk VFD Engine 52 reported fire showing throughout the 2 story wood-frame house. Crews began an interior attack but due to the volume of fire, instability of the house and the roof collapsing, firefighting efforts were hampered, pushing personnel outside. Several dozen firefighters were put to work on the scene that eventually went to 3 alarms. Tanker 6 operated on the scene for 3 hours and dropped 6,000 gallons of water.
