By Deputy Fire Chief Jonathan Riffe
March 13, 2013

Wednesday March 13, 2013 at 1840 hours, PG Forestville Chief 23A contacted Communications and advised of a multi-vehicle accident on Route 2, just in from Route 4, requesting the full assignment. The call brought the Fire Chief (Morris), Assistant Chief 6A (Montgomery), Deputy Fire Chief 6B (Riffe), Deputy EMS Chief 6C (Borden), Squad 6 (Lt Montgomery) & Engine 62 (Robison). Due to Ambulance 69 already committed on a separate incident, Dunkirk Ambulance 58 & Prince Frederick Ambulance 48 were also alerted to the run.

As the call was being dispatched, Chief 6B arrived on location and reported 5 vehicles involved with several patients. Two additional ambulances, North Beach Ambulance 18 & Ambulance 19 and Medic 104 were alerted to the run. A total of 9 patients were involved in the accident. Squad 6 secured and stabilized all vehicles involved as well as assisting the EMS crews. Engine 62 assisted Squad 6 and stood by with a charged protection line. At 1914 hours, the Huntingtown Volunteers returned to service. During the incident, an additional crew in quarters, handled a separate medical emergency with Brush 6.
