For the 4th time in 5 days, units from the Huntingtown VFD were responding to yet another house fire. Sunday November 18, 2012 at 0737 hours, Engine 62 was pulling into Company 2's parking lot to participate in an acquired house burn when units were alerted to 3305 North Avenue in Port Republic for the Working House Fire. The assignment brought Chief 6A (Montgomery), Engine 61 (Gaylor), Engine 62 (Sgt Montgomery) & Tanker 6 (Thrasher). Engine 71 arrived on location with fire showing from Division 2 of a two-story single-family residence. 3rd Due Engine 62 arrived immediately after Engine 71, assumed 2nd due responsibilities, supplying Engine 71 and advancing a back-up line to Division 2. The crew from Engine 62 located a bedroom on fire making quick work of the fire. Units from the Huntingtown VFD operated on the scene until 0900 hours and then departed for the acquired house burn with Company 2.
