Second Annual Josh Fabricante Memorial/Fundraiser Bike Ride
By Chief Jonathan Riffe
June 9, 2012
On Saturday June 9, 2012 at 0930 hours, hundreds of motorcyclists left from Broomes Island to Huntingtown United Methodist Church to lay flowers on the grave of Josh Fabricante, a young teenage member from the St Leonard VFD that was tragically killed in a car accident 6 years ago on Lowery Road in Huntingtown, MD (he had just graduated from Firefighter I class). Engine 61 & Ambulance 69 assisted in the procession of the bikers.
At approximately 1200 hours, the bikers arrived at the Huntingtown VFD. Food and refreshments were awaiting their presence which was handled by the Huntingtown VFD Auxiliary. All money that they collected for this memorial/fundraiser was handed over to to the department as a donation. Many thanks to the Fabricante family, all the bikers that supported the event and the 2 dozen Huntingtown VFD members in attendance.
