By Assistant Chief Jonathan Riffe
July 6, 2005

Early this morning around 0200 hours, Chief 6 (Osbourn), Engine 61 (F/F Nasti), and Squad 6 (Chief 6A; Riffe) were alerted for smoke in the dwelling on MacRae Avenue along with Company 2 (Prince Frederick), Engine 11 (North Beach), Tanker 83 (Benedict), and Tanker 7 (St Leonard). Engine 21 arrived initially and reported nothing evident from a single-story single-family wood-frame dwelling. Engine 61 arrived on the scene (supplied by Tanker 7), picking up Engine 21's line. After investigating, a working fire in the attic was discovered due to faulty wiring. The crews from Company 6 advanced an attack line up an exterior ladder through a window (due to no interior access) and quickly brought the fire under control. Salvage and overhaul was completed in less than twenty minutes and units from Company 6 returned to service in one hour.

Command: Chief 2 (Billings)
Interior Ops: Chief 2B (Boggs)
Attic: Chief 6A (Riffe)
Water Supply: Chief 6 (Osbourn)
