At approximately 1320 hours, the Huntingtown Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the 106 box (Chesapeake Beach) for a reported house fire. Engine 61 (D. Wallace) and Squad 6 (B. Thrasher), along with additional members, responded to the scene and worked alongside crews from surrounding companies. Thankfully, no injuries to the homeowners, civilians, or first responders were reported.
While returning to the station, Squad 6 was redirected and responded to a motorcycle accident in the 103 box (Sunderland) with Ambulance 68 (A. Nahas) at approximately 1405 hours. Ambulance 68 transported the patient to a local hospital before returning to service. May is Motorcycle Awareness Month.
