On Thursday July 29, 2010 at 0201 hours, the local alarm was dispatched at 2520 Solomons Island Road for the auto fire. While units were en route, supplemental information was received that it was a result of an auto accident, that the vehicle was on fire and bystanders were pulling victims from the burning wreckage. Chief 6A (Montgomery), Chief 6B (Thrasher), Engine 62 (Lt Buckler), Tanker 6 (Smith) and Ambulance 69 (Martin) arrived on location and found a single vehicle that had rolled several times and caught fire. The lone occupant had been removed and was suffering from traumatic injuries. The crew from Engine 62 deployed the front bumper line and made quick work of the fire. Tanker 6 established the Landing Zone and the patient was flown to PG Shock Trauma. Units returned to service at 0307 hours.
