Sunday January 15, 2012 at 0501 hours, Engine 61 (Sgt Montgomery) and Squad 6 (Thrasher) were alerted for the house fire in the 5200 block of Bayside Road. With units enroute, Communications advised they were receiving numerous phone calls, which upgraded the call to the "Working Fire", bringing Tanker 6 (Gaylor). First arriving units from the North Beach VFD, reported a one-story wood frame residence 100% involved with fire. All personnel immediately began to work on knocking down the fire through an aggressive exterior defensive attack. Units from the Huntingtown VFD deployed two attack lines; a 200' crosslay to Side "B" of the residence and a 400' attack line to the rear. Once the bulk of the fire was knocked down, crews worked their way inside knocking down all remaining fire, overhauling the structure and assisting the Fire Investigator. Units from the Huntingtown VFD worked on the scene for over 3 hours, clearing at 0812 hours.
