| Saturday July 23, 2011 at 0444 hours, Safety Officer 6 (Mckenny) and Engine 62 (Montgomery Jr) were alerted for the "working house fire" at 3842 6th Street in North Beach (111 Box). Units from the North Beach VFD arrived on location reporting heavy fire showing from a single-story house with exposures. Due to the amount of fire, crews initally went to work in defensive mode and protecting exposures (neighboring houses) that were already on fire. Engine 62 (4th due) arrived on location as the 3rd due Engine and began working with units on the scene extinguishing fire on the neighboring house and eventually making their way inside to complete an interior attack. Squad 6 (Hildwine) was alerted on the WFD, arrived on location, searched the residence (negative) and assisted with ventilation. Though the primary fire building was a complete loss, neighboring houses were saved. Crews from the Huntingtown VFD remained on the scene until 0716 hours.
