At approximately 0900 hours on Thursday July 20, 2011, Chief 6A (Montgomery), Chief 6B (Morris), Engine 62 (Montgomery Jr), Tanker 6 (Ward) and Ambulance 68 (Fillmore) were alerted for the freezer on fire at the Dunkirk Mc Donalds. Engine 62 arrived, supplied Engine 52 and stretched a line inside and found a freezer that had been on fire. The fire was quickly knocked down and the affected area was overhauled.

While the above incident was ongoing, Engine 61 was dispatched to the Dunkirk Urgent Care Facility (across from the Mc Donalds) for a priority 1 medical. With units across the street and uncommitted, Engine 61 was cancelled.

While Engine 62 was picking up from the freezer fire, Communications advised them to switch back to Fire Main for an additional response. Units from the surrounding area were alerted for the marina fire in Chesapeake Beach. This assignment brought Chief 6A, Chief 6B, Engine 62 and Tanker 6. Engine 62 arrived on location, picked up Engine 12's line and stretched a back-up line to assist the North Beach VFD with a fully-involved 45' powerboat. In addition, 2 exposures (sail boats) were also affected by the fire. Within minutes all fire was knocked down. Units from the Huntingtown VFD operated on these incidents until 1100 hours.
