| On Saturday June 11, 2011 at 0930 hours, approximately 120 motorcyclists left from Broomes Island to Huntingtown United Methodist Church to lay flowers on the grave of Josh Fabricante, a young teenage member from the St Leonard VFD that was tragically killed in a car accident 6 years ago on Lowery Road in Huntingtown, MD (he had just graduated from Firefighter I class).
At approximately 1200 hours, the bikers arrived at the Huntingtown VFD. Food and refreshments were awaiting their presence which was handled by the Huntingtown VFD Auxiliary. All money that they collected for this memorial/fundraiser (over $1,000) was handed over to President Gene Farrell as a donation. Many thanks to the Fabricante family, all the bikers that supported the event, the 2 dozen Huntingtown VFD members in attendance and the Board of Calvert County Commissioners Chair Susan Shaw who was also in attendance! |
