| This past Thursday April 7, 2011 was the regular scheduled monthly business meeting. This meeting however, was special and more emotional than any others in the past. Over 100 people were in attendance in the Hall at Huntingtown including politicians, dignitaries, media, members, family and friends. The festivities began at 7 pm with a wonderful dinner provided by Butts Up BBQ, Bowen's Grocery and the Ladies Auxiliary. At 8 pm, the meeting began. Several gift baskets and cards were distributed to the 6 injured Huntingtown VFD firefighters (from the Soper Road tragedy) from the "Calvert HIP Mamas." The two presenters were Erin Knolls and Katherine Stevens. In addition, the injured firefighters presented a special plaque to Scott Creelman, Jimmy Hess and Jimmy Grice; all volunteer members of the DC FF Burn Foundation.
