Pedestrian Struck and Flown

Thursday August 26, 2010 shortly before lunchtime, Chief 6 (Riffe), Chief 6A (Montgomery), Chief 6B (Thrasher), Squad 6 (Sgt Bingham), Engine 62 (Borden), Ambulance 69 (Martin) and Ambulance 68 (Mann) were alerted for the pedestrian struck in the area of the Gas Shop on Route 4. The 19 Volunteers arrived and found a pedestrian that was attempting to cross Route 4 and was struck by a truck. Crews went to work on stabilizing and packaging the patient while Engine 62 set up the Landing Zone. The patient was flown to a local trauma center. Units cleared within 20 minutes.
