On Monday April 25, 2005 in the early morning hours as schools were opening their doors in the County, Ambulance 68 (EMT Mclelland, B) was participating in a mock crash at Calvert High School with Company 2 (Prince Frederick) and Company 4 (Prince Frederick RS). The crash consisted of two vehicles with patients trapped in the vehicles. The drill was designed to show the students the effects of drinking and driving. The second vehicle was struck by a drunk driver "killing" one student. Crews worked on vehicle stabilization, extrication techniques and patient care. The operation went very well and was completed in one hour.
