| This past week, FF Matt Fisher traveled to Kansas City, Missouri for the National Vo-Tech competition. A few months ago, he scored 1st place in the state competition. Along for the flight to Kansas City was Lt Ricky Grierson, Member Al Jeffery, Recruitment and Retention Specialist Kim Jones, and Matt's family. They acted as mentors and support. The trip lasted 6 days. Matt competed with other firefighters across the country. Not just in written tests, but an entire hands-on physical challenge that was timed. At the end, Matt scored 10th place. Congratulations to Matt and for being a fine example of the Huntingtown VFD. |
