Daytime Competition/Drill

Wednesday May 26th started just like every other day in Huntingtown for the Volunteers. Crews handled several uneventful calls ranging from medical locals to a stuck elevator. After the days house work was completed the Volunteers manned the apparatus once again and went out to a local deli for some fine dining. Once back in quarters the Volunteers decided to have a little fun competition. With such a wide variety of ages here at Huntingtown the younger members tend to give the older members a hard time, all in good fun of course.

The Volunteers placed an engine 60' away from the front of the building where the Volunteers would then throw the 14' roof ladder and the 24' extension ladder, then return to the engine and pull the 200' cross lay and advance it to the 2nd floor of the firehouse via an exterior stairwell located approximately 150' from the engine. After completing this the FF then pulled a 50' section of 3" hose to the 2nd floor landing and then re-lowered it to the ground.

This was accomplished while in PPE and wearing SCBA. The times for this drill/competition are listed below.....and bragging rights have begun.

Note the ages and the times..............

M. Gaylor (17 year old male)--4:03
