Calvert High School's Athletics Department scored extra points with the donation of commercial grade weight training equipment from area Fire Department:

Prince Frederick, Maryland April 15, 2010 – Calvert High School's athletic programs gained strength recently when the Athletic Department received three pieces of commercial grade weight training equipment for its students. The school's Athletic Director, Brad Chris, accepted the free equipment at Calvert High School on April 15, when our Volunteers delivered a power rack, chest press, and shoulder press for the students.

"Our Volunteers voted to donate this equipment to one of the County's high schools as school budgets are often a reflection of the tough economic times we are all enduring" said Huntingtown's Chief, Jonathan Riffe. "We needed to find a place for this equipment as we are no longer in need of it due to the addition of much needed cardio equipment in our fitness room," added Chief Riffe. "It was important to the volunteers of our department that area youth benefit from this decision."
