Easter Sunday at 2044 hours, as several members were completing the evening cleaning of the buildings and grounds, a member noticed smoke and fire coming from the hood of another members vehicle in the rear parking lot. The crew immediately mounted Engine 62 and were able to make quick work of the fire in minutes with the front bumper line.

While racking up from the fire, the Huntingtown Volunteers were alerted for a gas leak in North Beach (4th due). While responding to the call, Communications reported a call coming in for a house fire in Huntingtown. Units from the Huntingtown VFD (Chief 6, Chief 6A, Chief 6B, Chief 6C, Engine 61, Engine 62, Squad 6, Tanker 6 and Ambulance 68) were re-routed to this call along with mutual aid companies but found this incident to be good intent. The Huntingtown Volunteers returned to service at 2158 hours.
