Saturday October 24, 2009 at 1259 hours, Chief 6 (Riffe), Chief 6B (Thrasher), Squad 6 (Nasti), Engine 62 (Clark), Brush 6 (S/O Mckenny), and Ambulance 69 (Capt Borden) were alerted for the overturned vehicle at Route 2 and Kent Road. In addition, Dunkirk Chief 5 (Sealey), Squad 5 and Ambulance 58 were alerted to the run along with Medic 101. With units en route, several reports began pouring in of people trapped, several patients, one patient unconscious, etc.

Units from the Huntingtown VFD arrived to find a 3-vehicle accident with one patient trapped and not breathing, along with 7 other injured persons. A helicopter was initially requested but cancelled due to CPR being in progress. The crew from Squad 6 went to work stabilizing the vehicle and using the 32" Jaws to force the driver side door of the trapped driver not breathing. Engine 62 stretched a protection line for units at work. Remaining manpower assisted medical units working on the scene.

A total of 5 patients were transported to Calvert Memorial Hospital, with one patient unfortunately succumbing to his injuries. 3 additional patients refused medical services. Last units cleared the calls at 1400 hours.
