Wednesday July 1, 2009 at 0152 hours, Chief 6 (Riffe), Chief 6B (Thrasher), and Squad 6 (Nasti) with a total of 8 Volunteers were alerted to assist with a serious auto accident, vehicle overturned with entrapment and possible ejection at Sandy Point Road and Sixes Road (normally 4th due, but 1st due Squad due to Squad 2 and Squad 7 out of service). Units from the Prince Frederick VFD arrived to find a single-vehicle overturned with the driver trapped and began stabilizing the vehicle. The 6 man crew aboard Squad 6 arrived and quickly deployed the HURST Maverick-combi tool, forcing the driver's side door open to free the patient. Once completed, the Huntingtown Volunteers returned to service at 0233 hours.
