| This past Sunday, Public Safety held the 1st annual Calvert County Volunteer Appreciation Day at the Fairgrounds in Prince Frederick, MD. Over 180 volunteers (not counting friend and family) spent their entire day (1200-1800 hours) at the event. Their were several activities for adults and children, a DJ, and a full buffett of food and beverages. The Huntingtown VFD supported this event with Engine 61, Squad 6, Ambulance 69, and Command 6. A total of 28 Huntingtown Volunteers were in attendance along with their family and friends. Despite the overcast skies and cool weather, it was a complete success. Many thanks to Public Safety and all the members of the departments for their support.
With 2 Chief's and 4 crews in attendance, 2 additional crews remained in quarters to protect Huntingtown. Many thanks to the dedicated members for taking time away on this Sunday afternoon.
